Biography
Wai Yin is a professional Theatre Designer, Visual Artist and Workshop Facilitator. A creative professional who conceptualise and executes compelling designs or ideas to a high level, with attention to detail.
Wai Yin has six years experience of designing for a variety of sets, costumes and props for a variety of theatre productions including plays, musicals, touring, community projects, events and exhibitions to outdoor performances. Design credits include: Piccadilly Revisited (ROH Linbury Studios), Chikyubako (Za-Koenji Theatre in Japan), Pangu & Nuwa (Trafalgar Square), Monkey (Polka Theatre), The Mona Lisas (UK Tour), Boom/Wave (UK Tour), Hanjo/Hells Screen (Oval House), State Fair (Finborough Theatre), Soho’s Got Talent (Soho Theatre), Plum & Pickle (Half Moon Theatre), Midsummer Night’s Dream (Southwark Playhouse), Into The Wood (The Bridewell Theatre), The First Chinese Emperor (British Museum), James Robson (National Maritime Museum), and When Midnight Strikes (Chelsea Theatre).
Wai Yin has also assisted designer’s Fiona Watt, Mike Lees and Dana Pinto. Recently Wai Yin has Art Directed a photography shoot for The Grand Hyatt Hotel in China, to promote their Grand Wedding Exhibition. As a workshop facilitator, she has worked with companies ranging from Heart’n’Soul to Royal Shakespeare Company. Mentored at colleges and universities, including Rose Bruford College to the BRIT School.
