Biography
New ProfessionalSamuel Fransch is a driven designer and maker with a passion for creating thoughtful, innovative stage environments that immerse audiences and elevate performance. He specialises in set and costume design, bringing a keen eye for detail and strong craft skills to every project.
Samuel graduated with First-Class Honours in Design for Stage and Screen (Design for Theatre and Live Performance) from Nottingham Trent University, where he was awarded the Nottingham Playhouse Prize. His professional design credits include Hansel and Gretel (Nottingham Playhouse), The Importance of Being Earnest (Off Topic Theatre Company), and a wide range of productions with Arts1 School of Performance and Black Sheep Collective. He has also worked as a scenic artist with Glastonbury Festival Events Ltd and as a glazier with Cloudy2Clear, experiences that inform his adaptable and resourceful approach to design-making.
With skills in AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite, prop making, and model making, Samuel thrives in collaborative environments, consistently producing work that is both imaginative and practical. He continues to develop a practice that balances design innovation with the craft of making, rooted in honesty, reliability, and a commitment to meaningful collaboration.
