Biography

Kate Marshall is an emerging designer and maker based in Yorkshire, specialising in both set and costume design.

​With a flair for colour, and a love of the whimsy, Kate thrives when creating playful and dynamic designs that bring a story to life.

​​​After studying at Leeds College of Art for her Extended Diploma, Kate went on to graduate with her BA in Theatre Design from UAL: Wimbledon College of Art in 2023.

​​​​Following her return to the north, Kate became the ’24/’25 Jerwood Resident Designer for Leeds Playhouse in association with Tutti Frutti Productions.

In her current residency, Kate has assisted on various productions including The Glass Slippers, Mr Snow, and the Olivier nominated Stratford East Production of Animal Farm.

​​Kate is currently designing the upcoming production of Brainstorm at Leeds Playhouse.

A devised performance responding to the message of ‘Valkyrie’, the costumes utilise recycled plastics/ materials to eco the themes of climate change and take inspiration from the Northern Lights.
