Biography

First theatre designs on graduating from the Motley Design Course were OEDIPUS and WAITING FOR GODOT for the Young Vic. Since then I have designed some 300 productions for over 40 companies including as a Head of Design for The Pitlochry Festival, The Haymarket in Basingstoke and at The Belgrade in Coventry. Work abroad includes opera for Icelandic Opera, ballet for companies in New Zealand, South Africa, The United States and Japan. I have designed pantomimes and musicals in Northern Ireland and opera and drama throughout Britain.

I particularly enjoy working on new pieces and have designed the premieres of many plays, musicals, opera and ballet.

Most recent work includes 3 DECEMBERS and SWEENEY TODD for Opera Della Luna at Wiltons Music Hall, ORPHEUS IN THE UNDERWORLD for the Buxton Festival, UTOPIA for the G&S Festival, FUP and CARRIES WAR for the Minack Theatre in Cornwall.
