Biography

New Professional

Dada is a scenographer born in South Korea, based between Seoul and London.

Trained and experienced in theatre directing, writing, and stage design,

she has developed the ability to construct meaning through layered theatrical elements, engage in rigorous textual analysis, and translate these insights into visual form.

Working across these disciplines, she deconstructs texts and recomposes them into her own visual language with precision and depth.

She dismantles classical meanings and reframes them through a contemporary lens — transforming the familiar into radical, abstract, and modern visual experiences. Her practice extends beyond theatre into drama and film.

Ultimately, her work opens space for meaning — a scenographer who fills empty spaces.

A local councillor works tirelessly at the local food bank, passionately supporting people from all walks of life.

Amidst the shelves, their team of dedicated volunteers come together to support their communities.
Two MPs watch over the nation, deciding its fate and observing its destruction.

Spirits falter. Power slips through fingertips. A community under strain.

This mesmerising reimagining of a classic tale by Dipo Baruwa-Etti, (shortlisted for Evening Standard, George Devine, and Alfred Fagon Awards) has been commissioned by the Lyric for our SPRINGBOARD 2024 trainees. Directed by Roberta Zuric, The Trojan Women reimagines this Greek classic through a modern lens that speaks directly to the condition of today’s society.

Candida has never had to choose.

Comfortable in the patriarchy that supports and confines her.

Comforted by the the men who support and idolize her.

But she is starting to rot. Like them.

If this is a man’s world, where does she fit in?

What future will she choose?
