Biography
New ProfessionalAmelia Kyriacou is a theatre designer and maker.
She has experience with traditional set and costume design practices, as well as a tool belt of varied creative skills collected from a lifelong love of making and honed by formal training. As a new professional, Amelia is constantly looking to learn new things and develop her practice in hands-on ways. Amelia’s work is often playful while fighting to give the audience a visceral feeling; she seeks out work that has something to say and is obsessed with using visuals to communicate the intangible.
In 2025 she took part in a Masterclass Script Scratch, working on SUGA by Max Hyner. Also in 2025, Amelia made her co-writing debut in collaboration with Holly Stocker with Crescent Crisis (which she also designed and directed).
In 2023 she had the honour of taking two projects to the Prague Quadrennial (along with the projects’ respective collaborators,) performing for PQ Studio Stage with Memory Police and exhibiting in the National Gallery of Prague with Breadshop in the (Un)Common Design Project.
Past work includes Odysseus, Not Your Hero (Bread and Roses Theatre, Lambeth Fringe); Crescent Crisis (VIEW Festival, Mountview Academy of Theatre Arts); The Birds (Lyric Hammersmith, Evolution Festival); Memory Police (Prague Quadrennial 2023)
