Assistance Experience

I have been a design associate for Stewart Charlesworth  a site specific production Fools Flood/Noye’s Fludde –  play & Opera – Neil Clayton & Benjamin Britten. As design associate my role consisted of painting the set and building and creating giraffe puppets out of cardboard and set and props out of sustainable materials.

I was an assistant costume designer for Reuben Speed

I trained at Royal Central school of speech and drama, we’re in my training we covered model making and the skills needed for design, we went through the whole design process working on a range of productions from immersive, dance ect. Skills I learnt whilst training  was auto cad, sketch up and photoshop. I feel confident making 3d models using sketch up. I enjoy panting set but don’t come from a background in scenic construction but I am keen to learn . As my original background is performing and I decided to re train in set and costume design. Prior to my training at central I did a year at Guildhall on the costume supervision course.

I enjoy painting and distressing set, and love helping with the research souring and putting together moodboards, to assist in the design process.

I have a keen interest in costume design and have skills in costume research, sourcing, costume breakdown and costume buying. I can do basic alterations and can use a sewing machine. I’m not a costume maker but can do script breakdowns, moodboards and research to aid the design process.
