Making, Unmaking, Remaking is the workshops and talks programme of design | stage.

Making in this context relates to crafting and doing using materials, but it also relates to creating worlds and to storytelling using imaginary, immaterial, relational and social practices. Within an educational context it also relates to Learning. How are we learning as designers? How do we pass on this learning? 

 Unmaking considers questioning and potentially dismantling or dissecting already established ways of Making to give way for new ways of doing and understanding. Within an educational context it also relates to Unlearning. Which practices do we need to question and potentially unlearn as designers and makers for Making that is more sustainable, accessible, decolonial and inclusive? 

Remaking incorporates old and new possibilities, technologies, materialities and doings to our renewed practices. Within an educational context it also relates to Relearning. What and from whom do we need to re-learn for navigating today’s theatre and performance landscape in order to remain relevant in the current climate?
