Biography
takis studied Costume and Set Design at the Romanian National University of Arts (Bucharest), with a scholarship from the Romanian Ministry of Education where he graduated with honours in 2002. He continued his studies at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art on the Theatre Technical Arts Course, graduating with distinction in 2004, with support from a “Kiveli-Horn” scholarship given by the Greek Friends of Music Society. Currently he is finishing a PhD at the London College of Fashion, researching new ways to view the contemporary male suit, supported by an Onassis Foundation scholarship.
takis has worked as a model room assistant at the Royal Opera House in London, as a scenic art assistant for several productions at the Greek National Opera and the Megaron-Athens Concert Hall and as a costume assistant for the Opera Festival of Rome.
He is also a guest lecturer and workshop leader at the Romanian National University of Arts in Bucharest, the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art (where he also leads the Theatre Design Summer Course), the London College of Fashion and Central Saint Martins, the Lyric Hammersmith/Lyric Young Company and the International Youth and Culture Centre Kiebitz in Duisburg, Germany where in 2002, takis did his European Voluntary Service.
takis is based in London, working as costume, set designer and installation artist. His work has been seen in around sixty productions worldwide in various indoor and outdoor venues. He is the artistic director of Artluxe and resident designer of HighTide.
