Biography

Trained: Wimbledon School of Art.

Recent work includes: "The Tempest" with Richard Briers, "The Plough And The Stars" (Abbey Theatre, Dublin); "The Daughter In Law" (Young Vic); "The Good Father and Sive" (Druid Theatre, Galway); "The Lieutenant Of Inishmore" (RSC and Garrick); "Romeo and Juliet" and "As You Like It" (Regent's Park Open Air Theatre);" Communion" (Peacock, Dublin); and "Maometto II" (Opéra National du Rhin, Strasbourg).

Other work includes: the National Theatre of Brent's "The Wonder of Sex" (Royal National Theatre); "My Brilliant Divorce" (Druid Theatre); "Andorra" (Young Vic); Sondheim's "Putting It Together" (Chichester); and "Too Late For Logic" (Lyceum, Edinburgh); "Fortunio" (Grange Park Opera); and "A Raisin In The Sun" (Salisbury Playhouse and Young Vic).

Numerous productions for Druid Theatre Company in Galway include: The award winning "The Beauty Queen of Leenane" (also Royal Court, London, Walter Kerr Theatre, New York - winning four Tony Awards on Broadway - Toronto, Sydney and Dublin), and "Lonesome West" (also London, Dublin and Lyceum, New York).

Many productions for the Abbey, Dublin including: "Iphigenia" and "Big Maggie", for which he won Best Designer Award in the 2002 Irish Times Theatre Awards; "The Colleen Bawn" and "Tarry Flynn" (both also RNT, London); Tom Murphy's "The House; The Wake" (also Edinburgh Festival); and Brian Friel's "Freedom Of The City" (also Lincoln Center, New York).

Other theatre includes: "Peer Gynt" (Royal National Theatre); "La Cava", "Two Pianos Four Hands", "Anna Weiss" (London's West End); "Love Upon The Throne" (National Theatre of Brent); "Closer" (RNT on tour); and "Sacred Heart" (Royal Court).
