Emmylou is a UK based artist and costume and textiles specialist working as a freelance maker and designer and within FE and HE. In her costume/theatre work emmylou is an accomplished maker, skilled at pattern cutting, garment construction and embellishment, including print, embroidery and dyeing and she loves solving problems! Working with material and process, idea and narrative, as an artist and designer emmylou constructs narratives for consumption and consideration by an audience.

Emmylou also makes games, as a director of Curious Pastimes Ltd. a live roleplaying company producing 4 events each year, she is also currently undertaking MA Games Design at UCLAN, exploring pervasive gaming and the intersection between games and other areas.

As an educator Emmylou is interested in research, learning and teaching practical skills, critical thinking and an individual working process.

Previously Emmylou studied MA in Costume for Performance at London College of Fashion in February 2014, graduating with a distinction, also Textile Art at Winchester School of Art. She holds a teaching qualification (DTLLS) and is currently Costumes/Textiles/Fashion pathway leader for the UAL Art Foundation Course at CityLit in London.
