TUTUMUCKY
Costume Designer
2017
Dundee Rep. Touring.
Scottish Dance Theatre
A collaboration between Scottish Dance Theatre and London based choreographer Botis Seva (Far From The Norm), TutuMucky blurs the boundaries between ballet, contemporary and hiphop dance technique, challenging traditional convention to offer a distinctively innovative form of dance.
TutuMucky searches for peace in chaos and celebrates revolt against every system that tries to oppress us. Coming from an interest in social order, structured lifestyles and hierarchies, the costume design continues the themes of conformity and subversion by uniformly costuming the dancers whether male or female, in traditional tutus in brown hues, unsettling the regimented and pristine culture of the ballet world.
