Biography
ProfessionalI am a Set and Costume Designer, who also makes and assists, currently based in the North East and I will soon be available for work in London.
In 2017 I graduated with a 1st Class BA (Hons) in Theatre and Performance Design from The Liverpool Institute for Performing Arts (LIPA).
At the start of 2022 I designed The Invisible Man for Northern Stage, written by Phil Correia and directed by Anna Girvan. It had a successful run at Northern Stage, Stage 3, before a tour of venues around the North. It was part of NS North project, supporting local and early to mid career talent.
In October/November 2021 I designed Grubbins Wood for TimbaDash Theatre. This production was a fully immersive and multi-sensory show. The audience was school aged children who have additional needs, it was performed in a school hall which we transformed into a magical woods.
Other productions I designed include; Melva (re-design) for Mortal Fools (2021), I Weigh for Mortal Fools (2019), Brainstorm for Mortal Fools (2018).
I assisted Costume Supervisor, Molly Syrett, for Rise by Southpaw Dance Co. It was designed by Rebecca Browerand directed by Robby Graham, and was commissioned by Metroland Culture for LBOC Opening Ceremony 2020 at Olympic Way, Wembley. I 2018 I assisted Samal Blak for Tell Me The Truth About Love, by Streetwise Opera at The Sage, Gateshead, directed by Bijan Sheibani.
My skills include; Costume design and Set design, Prop making, Sourcing, Costume alterations, Costume deconstruction and reconstruction, Dressing, Wardrobe maintenance, Hand domestic and industrial sewing, Set dressing, Model making, CAD, technical drawing, Photoshop and InDesign.
I am most passionate about designing theatre productions that are led by through themes, atmospheres and feelings. I love creating shows that make you think outside of the box, wheather that be immersive, studio scale multi sensory. I am very hands on and collaborative when working, so team work is where I thrive.
