Vikki Heywood appointed Chair of RSA:
The outgoing Executive Director of the Royal Shakespeare Company, Vikki Heywood, will take over as Chair of the RSA (Royal Society for the Encouragement of Arts, Manufactures and Commerce).
Vikki, who was recently awarded a CBE in the Queen’s Birthday Honours for services to theatre, took up her post at the RSC in 2003.
She is due to step down in September this year, alongside Artistic Director Michael Boyd, and she will take up her position at the RSA in October.
Commenting on the appointment, RSA Chief Executive Matthew Taylor said that the organisation had chosen “a leader with the enthusiasm, skills and a great reputation who drives positive change.”
Vikki will replace current RSA Chair, entrepreneur Luke Johnson, on 3rd October this year.
