Professional: £65

As a professional member you will receive:

  • your own dedicated entry on our Designers’ register profiling up to 30 images of your realised work, your biog, contact details and a link to your own website if you wish.
  • the opportunity to submit work for our National Exhibitions and the accompanying catalogue (next exhibition 2019)  We have also forged very strong links with the V&A and the Prague Quadrennial, both of whom exhibit a selection of work from our National Exhibitions.
  • access to an international network of professional around the world via OISTAT (International Association of Scenographers, Theatre Architects and Technicians) via events such as World Stage Design and regular commission meetings and seminars.
  • listings of your shows or events you are involved in on our Events Calendar.

Graduate: £35

We recognise that the transition from education into professional practice can be a challenging one both socially and economically.

Our graduate membership reduced rate has been created to reflect this and is available to you up to 3 years after graduating.
We are particularly keen to develop our events programme around your needs by offering regular advice surgeries and opportunities to meet socially. If you have an idea for an event of your own, we are equally keen to help you develop that.

As a graduate member you will receive:

  • your own dedicated entry on our Designers’ register profiling up to 30 images of your realised work, your biog, contact details and a link to your own website if you wish
  • the opportunity to list your skills (and select the regions you are available to work in) on our Assistant Designers register which we link to our monthly e-newsletter The Eye.
  • the opportunity to submit work for our National Exhibitions and the accompanying catalogue (next exhibition 2019).  We have also forged very strong links with the V&A and the Prague Quadrennial, both of whom exhibit a selection of work from our National Exhibitions

If you would like to keep in touch with what we do or have studied/worked at the UK at some point but now live and work elsewhere in the world, we would be delighted to welcome you as an International Associate.

Do designers ever really retire? We hope not.

If you have chosen to do less active designing or teaching, we still value your contribution to the Society immensely. It is entirely up to you how much you choose to become actively involved.

By joining us you can keep in touch with contemporary practice, attend events, volunteer to join the committee and offer advice and support to younger members.

As students of performance design you are our future and we want you to feel welcome within the organisation from the minute you start training.

By joining us you will have access to the richest resource of designers for performance in the country.

We try to attend all of the end of year degree shows and we work in close collaborartion with Association of Courses in Theatre Design ( ACTD) to ensure that we are providing relevant advice and support as you undertake training, internships and work placements
