Course Description:
The course is intended for students with a particular interest in the visual aspects of theatre making. During the course students will explore the function of design and the role of the designer in a variety of contexts, working through a combination of practical exercises, research and intellectual enquiry. Outside class time students will be expected to work independently on projects using the facilities of the design room.
While the course focuses on design it is not aimed exclusively at students wishing to pursue this discipline. An understanding of the visual and spatial aspects of theatre will prove valuable to a wide variety of interests and ambitions.
