Course Description:
After an intensive period of consultation and development this degree programme has been redesigned. The new title for the degree is simply the BA / BA Hons. Theatre Production. This dynamic new course offers:

After this initial grounding in Theatre Production students will then continue to spend a further three semesters pursuing their studies in one of the following specialist strands. At the end of their third year having completed six semesters students will have the opportunity to specialise for a further year and receive the award of BA Hons. Theatre Production.

The new programme aims to produce graduates working in all of the following professions: Students will also have the opportunity to develop associated technical and craft skills by means of a range of elective projects offered during their third year.

The nature of the course is strongly vocational and students undertake the day to day running of the Gateway Theatre and produce the ten public performances staged there each year. This focus on the vocational is further enhanced by a particular emphasis on professional placements.

Applicants for the BA / BA Hons. Theatre Production are requested to nominate their chosen specialist strand as part of their application.

Applicants whose primary interest is in the field of costume design and construction will be interested to know that that QMUC will be offering a new specialist degree course in this subject area in commencing in 2005.
