Suzie first designed set and costumes for performance as an undergraduate English and Drama student at Goldsmiths in the late 1980’s. Subsequently, she has designed for numerous choreographers and companies, including: Rosemary Butcher, Charles Linehan, Maresa Von Stockert, Protein Dance, Candoco Dance Company, Phoenix Dance Theatre, StopGAP Dance Company, Darkin Ensemble, Ludus Dance, and East Midlands Children’s Theatre Consortium.

In addition to working as a freelance costume designer, Suzie is Head of Costume and Lecturer in Performance Design at Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance, where she is also a resident designer for Transitions Dance Company. In this role she has enjoyed successful design collaborations with many international choreographers including: Lea Anderson, Rui Horta, Rafael Bonachela, Cameron McMillan, Daniel Larrieu, Lauri Stallings and, most recently, Stefanie Batten Bland. Her Higher Education practice sees her lecturing and supervising on undergraduate and postgraduate programmes. Subject specialisms include: scenography, performance making,contextual studies and research methods.

In 2011, Suzie’s set and costume design work featured at the Victoria and Albert Museum, in ‘A Flash of Light: The Dance Photography of Chris Nash’.

Suzie holds an MA in Critical Studies: Visual Art and Theatre, from Wimbledon College of Art.
