Graduating students from the BA (Hons) Acting course wowed audiences at the Pavilion in Bournemouth recently with their performances in the remake of the 1969 Sidney Pollack film ‘They Shoot Horses, Don’t They?’ Playing to packed audiences over four sittings, the students performed the energetic play that fused aspects of theatre, dance and multimedia to tell the story of a gruelling dance marathon set in the depression of 1930s America. The unique production was adapted for stage and directed by Ellie Nixon, a Senior Lecturer in Acting. It was the first production that the Acting course has performed outside of the Institute’s Studio Theatre and the production combined the talents of students from the BA (Hons) Costume with Performance
