Biography

Sakina trained in set and costume design at the Bristol Old Vic Theatre School.

Her design credits include: Hänsel und Gretel (Royal Academy of Music), White Peacock (Nottingham Playhouse Roundabout), Blood Wedding, The Visit, Find Me and Down in the Dumps (Nottingham Playhouse Youth Theatre), Gala Event (Royal Albert Hall), Under the Bed (Theatre Centre, National Tour), Lyrical MC (Tamasha Theatre Company, touring to Oval House, Soho Theatre, Half Moon and Unicorn Theatre, London), Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf, Under the Blue Sky and Days of Wine and Roses (Theatre by the Lake Studio, Keswick), The Joy of Politics (Black Sheep Comedy, National Tour), The Golden Voyage of Sinbad (Sideways Theatre, C Venues, Edinburgh Festival), Homestead (Shady Dolls Theatre Company, Theatre Museum, Covent Garden), A Christmas Carol (Big Foot Theatre Company, Schools Tour), Junior Embrace Summer Schools (Theatre Royal Bath).
As an assistant designer: Ghosts in the Gallery (Polka Theatre), Hot Stuff (Curve).

Sakina has also worked as an AutoCAD Draughtsperson/Assistant Production Manager at the Royal Opera House and as a Design Associate and Model Maker for the National Theatre. She is a visiting lecturer in AutoCAD at the Bristol Old Vic Theatre School and has taught model making at Rose Bruford College.
