Biography

Ruth trained in Theatre Design at Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama. She designs for a range of performance events including theatre, site-specific performance, opera and dance.

Ruth also works as a scenic artist for Cardiff Theatrical Services. Productions include Charlie and the Chocolate Factory (Theatre Royal, Drury Lane), Le Heure D'Espagnol (Glyndebourne), A Provincial Life (National Theatre Wales/Sherman Cymru), The Magistrate and The Audience (National Theatre), Lohengrin and La Boheme (Welsh National Opera).

Though now based in Cardiff, Ruth has been involved in art and drama projects in Romania, Edinburgh and Birmingham, and frequently works in London. She has extensively worked with Shunt Theatre Company, and in 2009 created 'Persona,' an interactive sculptural installation for the Shunt Lounge in the Vaults, London Bridge. Ruth is particularly interested in site-specific work, she likes her designs to focus on the interaction between the performer and the environment they find themselves in, and the potential this offers.
