Production photo. This was a very controversial revival of a classic Welsh text. The title literally translates as House on the Sand, and in the stage directions this is indeed where it is set. But it is also a very surreal play and the director approached it from a theatrical/ psychological point of view and devised the idea that it the set should suggest a museum cum mental assylum.
