Biography
ProfessionalLois is a North West based designer, scenic artist, educator and researcher, working across all genres of performance since 2005. She is interested in making stimulating, socially conscious work with creative collaborators that explores the interpretation and boundaries of today’s performance space. She has been shortlisted for the Linbury Prize for Stage Design and was a finalist in the BBC Design Vision Competition. Her work is always realised with considered vision, heart, humour and imagination.
Recent collaborations as a freelance designer include: Action Transport Theatre, dreamthinkspeak, Teatro Pomodoro, Coal Theatre, Tmesis Theatre, Royal de Luxe, FUSE Theatre, Hope Street Ltd., National Museums Liverpool, Royal Exchange Manchester, Royal Court Liverpool, Octagon Theatre Bolton, Liverpool Everyman and Playhouse, Lakeland Opera and work on the BBC Comedy series The Mighty Boosh.
Lois is a core academic staff member at the Liverpool Institute for Performing Arts, teaching on the BA (Hons) Theatre and Performance Design and Technology programmes.
