After graduating from Wimbledon School of Art, Liz won an Arts Council Bursary, which took her to the Belgrade Theatre, Coventry. Since then Liz has worked extensively in theatre.
Her freelance work includes: "The Grapes of Wrath" (RADA); "Death and the Maiden", "Alice's Adventures In Wonderland" and "A Midsummer Night's Dream", (The Dukes, Lancaster); "'Tis Pity She's A Whore" and "Man in the Moon" (Liverpool Playhouse). Liz has designed William Nicholson's "Katherine Howard" (Chichester Festival Theatre); Brian Friel's "Give Me Your Answer Do", Philip Ridley's "Apocalyptica" (Hampstead Theatre ); Kevin Hood's "So Special" and Abi Morgan's "Fast Food" (Royal Exchange, Manchester).

At the Prague Quadrennial in 1999, UNESCO awarded Liz a prize for promotion of Visual Arts. Since then, Liz has designed Alan Plater's "Peggy For You" (Hampstead Theatre, Comedy Theatre and tour), Fiona Padfield's "Snapshots", Simon Robson's "The Ghost Train Tattoo", "As You Like It", 'Mary Barton", "Roots", "The Childrens Hour", "The Three Sisters", "Hedda Gabler", "Blithe Spirit"' "The Rise And Fall Of Little Voice""The Seagull" "On The Shore Of The Wide World", which transferred to The Cottesloe Theatre, "Lady from the Sea" "Beautiful Thing" & "The House of Bernarda Alba" (Royal Exchange, Manchester); Philip Ridley's "Vincent River", and Steve Waters' "After The Gods","Yellowman", "Anna In The Tropics","Rubensteins Kiss", (Hampstead Theatre); "Peggy For You", (Comedy Theatre, London and Tour) Billy Roche's "Cavalcaders" (The Tricycle Theatre); "Two gentlemen Of Verona", RSC, Swan Theatre and National Tour.
