Biography

Jo is a recent graduate from The Royal Central School of Speech and Drama studying an MA in Scenography. During her time she has completed modules in archiving, set design for opera and various skills sessions including pinhole photography, Autocad, Vectorworks and Sketchup.
Jo began her career with a BA in Stage Management giving her a strong grounding in the understanding of the relationships within a theatrical production team. She gained a keen eye for detail as well as great time management and interpersonal skills. It was during this time that Jo developed a keen interest in working within opera beginning with a placement with Welsh National Youth Opera as ASM and following on with a placement with the Royal Opera House.
Most recently Jo has used her construction skills alongside her design skills during work as an assistant designer on an immersive theatre piece called 'Girl' working with Talent Match and Collage Arts charities. She has also designed costume and set for a new 15 minute opera piece entitled 'Feet' with Gestalt Arts for the Horniman Museums event 'Magic Lates.' Currently she is working as assistant designer for Rob Dicks at Birmingham City University for a devised piece based on 'The Cabinet of Dr Caligari' and 'Mary Queen of Scots Got Her Head Chopped Off.' She enjoys working as a collaborative team and using her construction skills alongside her design skills.
