Theatre credits include: "Far Away", "Via Dolorosa" (and Broadway), "This is a Chair", "Body Talk", "Death and the Maiden" (also National Tour) and "Plasticine" all for the Royal Court; "Afore Night Come" (Young Vic); "Albert Speer", "Machinal" (RNT); "An Inspector Calls" (RNT, West End, Broadway and international); "The Ingolstadt Plays", "Figaro Gets Divorced", "Jerker" (The Gate, London); "Enter Achilles", "Bound to Please" (DV8).
Opera includes: "Medea" (Opera North); "Tristan and Isolde", "Ariodante" (ENO and Welsh National Opera); "La Traviata" (Opéra National de Paris); "Il Ritorno d'Ulisse in Patria" (Bavarian State Opera, Munich).

Film and Television include: "Winterreise" (Channel 4); "Eight" (Working Title).

In 1999 Ian designed costumes and environments for the Pet Shop Boys album Nightlife and staged the world tour following its release.

Ian is an Associate Producer on the film "The Hours" (Paramount).
