The set for Little Eyolf consisted of a pier extending across the studio on a diagonal. The pier was stepped starting in a pool of beach pebbles and then an aged wooden ramp leading to the first level. This is a photo of the top level of the pier where it reaches the land and the golden forests behind. The whole production took place on the pier reflecting the outside lifestyle of Norwegians, allowing for a smooth flow to the play that built tension. The continual presense of the pier was a grusome reminder of the fate of Little Eyolf. We were inspired by the elements in this design and consequently it included running water, fire and wind which fluttered through the leaves.
