Ariadne, abandoned on Naxos by her lover Theseus, is not amused by attempts of Zerbinetta's troop to rouse her from her misery. In our production Ariadne's island was an installation within a gallery/performance space and Zerbinetta's troop were contemporary burlesque/cabaret perfomers
