Biography

Charlie studied at Chelsea School of Art, specialising in Public Art. He has practised as a set designer for the last 15 years and has also lectured in stagecraft. The many aspects of performance he has designed for include musical theatre, pantomime, drama, opera, dance and devised theatre.

In musical theatre he has designed for touring productions of Disney's Beauty and the Beast, Singin' in the Rain, South Pacific, Fiddler on the Roof, Jekyll and Hyde, Anything Goes, Hi-de-Hi and Seven Brides for Seven Brothers, the latter including a run at The Theatre Royal Haymarket. He has also designed for Little Shop of Horrors, The Railway Children and The Wind in the Willows amongst others.

Plays and dramas he has designed for include Lord and Ladies, Art, 'Allo 'Allo, Murdered to Death, Alice Through the Looking Glass, Table Manners, Macbeth, The Mating Game, Single Spies, Intent to Murder, Gasping, Blue Remembered Hills, Birthday Suite, See How They Run, Who Goes Bare, The Game of Murder, Nobody's Perfect, Kissing Sid James, I'll Be Back Before Midnight, Perfect Pitch, Charley's Aunt, House Guest, Affairs in a Tent and Mr Fox.

Childrens shows he has designed for include Fireman Sam, Postman Pat, Noddy in Toyland, The Tales of Peter Rabbit, The Little Big Club - Live in Concert, Fifi and the Flowertots, Harry & His Bucket Full of Dinosaurs, Barney, Brum, Tractor Tom, Bananas in Pyjamas, Engie Benjy, Mr Men, Rupert the Bear and Looney Tunes

In devised theatre he has designed shows for such companies as Peepolykus, Mimbre, Big State Theatre Company, Red Herring Productions and Company FZ. Shows include Rhinoceros by Eugene Ionesco, Mindbender, Fetch, We Can Be Heroes, Loser, The Fire Starter, The Seance, The Bridge, Fallen Angels and Trip-tic.
