Biography

Catherine graduated from Nottingham Trent University 2009. Design credits include Rise and Fall, Ring of Envy, Verona Road (Intermission Yourth Theatre) Twelfth Night (New Wimbledon Theatre Studio); Othello (The Bussey Building); Eisteddfod ( High Tide at Latitude Festival); Baba Shakespeare (RSC Courtyard Theatre and Arcola Theatre) Gerbils in a Glass Cage (The Space); Fit for Purpose Pleasance, Edinburgh; Macbeth and Hobson’s Choice (The Broadway Theatre). Associate design credits include I Puritani (Welsh National Opera) and Dido & Aeneas / La Voix Humaine (Opera North). She has acted as regular assistant to Leslie Travers on several operas in the UK and internationally as well as the Kneehigh Theatre’s production of Rebecca which was nominated in the best design category of the UK Theatre Awards. Other leading designers she has assisted include Giles Cadle, Stewart Laing, Tom Cairns, Soutra Gilmour, Thaddeus Strassberger, Helen Goddard, Ben Stones and Tim Goodchild. Forthcoming assistant engagements include La Boheme directed by Richard Jones (Royal Opera House). Catherine is currently working with the National Theatre to develop and lead workshops in set design aimed at young people.
