Biography
Sonia Carlini was born in Cagliari, Sardinia, Italy.
She graduated with a diploma of honour in Stage Design from the Art Academy of Sassari. National classification level was 110 and praise/110 with thesis entitled:
“Il Maggio Musicale Fiorentino nel rapporto con gli artisti” (artist relationships) and a graphic project realization of Jacques Offenbach opera “Les contes d’Hoffman”.
Before she has studied in the Liceo of Art in Cagliari specialization Architecture.
She partecipated in 4th edition of National Arts Prize 2006 promoted by the Ministry of University and Research General Administingtion for Advanced Artistic, Musical and Choreographic Education Rome, with a scenery project for the opera “Siegfried” by Richard Wagner. Passing the first and second stages, she reached the selection for the final phase and partecipation at the art exibition held in Bologna, January 2007.
She worked in the Opera Theatre of Cagliari as Tecnical and Designer Assistent on Stage Design Director.
She worked in an International Company of Animation Theater "Is Mascareddas".
As Stage designer, construction help during set preparation, puppeteer, audio and sound tecnician, workshop in primary schools and for adults.
She had partecipation at different and international festivals in several Italian cities, in Spain and Austria.
Sonia has done a lot of stage and courses:
Workshop and Formation corse in Stage Design at the Second Edition of Stage Design, Masterclass “In the sign of Josef Svoboda” . Macerata Art Academy and the Sferisterio Association.
Computer courses: Thelos, computer graphic school, Autodesk, Cagliari for Computer Grafic 3D: Maya unilimited. Photoshop. Micress, computer graphic school, Autodesk, Cagliari for AutoCAD.
“Shadow Puppet Workshop” course on shadow construction and animation, by Richard Bradshaw.
“Think the Scene (Small Miracle)” playwright workshop, by Gabriele Ferrari.
“Card Game” workshop corse using paper and card for model- Making, by Natale Panaro.
“Stories, Flables and Tales” oral and written course, by Gabriele Ferrari.
“Wooden Faces” course in wood sculpturing, by Natale Panaro.
