Biography
In 2009 Belle was art director of a short film, Seven Days, then she worked on props for Ridley Scott’s new film, Robin Hood, and was production designer of the film Pray. Recent theatre work includes: set and costume design for Brighton Beach Scumbags, King’s Head Theatre; The House of Bernarda Alba, A Patriot for Me, Undiscovered Country and Trelawny of the ‘Wells’, all for the Actors’ Company, New Players Theatre; Copenhagen, Tabard Theatre; Fantasyland, White Bear Theatre; The Lounge Act, White Bear Theatre. She designed costumes for The Tempest, CSSD; Kafka’s Dick, Upstairs at the Gatehouse; Cold Hands, Theatre 503; Ponies and Scotch and Water, Hen and Chickens Theatre; and the set for the Puppini Sisters’ concert, Bloomsbury Theatre.
Belle has designed six plays at Theatre 503: Warm, One Glass Wall, Fishbowl, Roger and Vanessa, Talkin’ Loud, and Breathing.
Opera work includes the sets for La Traviata and The Marriage of Figaro for Hampstead Garden Opera and set and costumes for Lucia di Lammermoor, Diva Opera, UK/France tour; and various opera scenes for Morley College Opera. Belle has also worked as designer at Peckham Shed with the children’s and youth theatre groups.
Belle trained at Motley and FDI at Pinewood Studios.
