The Wicker Husband: 2020
The Watermill Theatre
Designing The Wicker Husband was a real joy. Set under the boughs of a willow tree, The Watermill Theatre provided the perfect backdrop. A musical adaptation of a short story by Ursula Wills-Jones, the tale explores the true meaning of ugliness. Combining folk music and life size puppetry the design process delved into the recreation of nature on stage as well as investigating preconceived ideas of beauty and ugliness.
