The intimate space of the Lion and Unicorn pub lent itself well to the cramped conditions and tense atmosphere of the 1950's bed-sit. I assumed that the room would have been last decorated in the 1930's and then let out after the war. I used predominantly pre-war furniture and murky greens and browns to convey the run-down nature of the room.
