"The Watched" by Christopher William Hill

The production was touring, mainly church halls in Cornwall with some larger venues. The play was a ghost story with a twist: A group of isolated people - the arrival of a stranger throws the balance and re-kindles the past.
Setting in the round increased the sense of claustrophobia/isolation - we watched through branches set into the stage. Minimal furniture and texture gave sense of location: At one time kitchen of 'The Great House' at another,
a Moorland skirted by woods.
"The Watched" will tour more widely in Autumn 2000.
